Puhoi Tea Rooms

Experience the calming ambiance of the Puhoi Cottage and Tea Rooms and their world famous Devonshire Cream Teas

The Puhoi Cottage is one of the oldest Tea Rooms in New Zealand. The cottage is also the oldest tea rooms in New Zealand still serving Devonshire Teas.

A large scone served warm, with jam and freshly whipped cream, and a drink of your choice.

All of their teas are leaf teas where possible and they have chosen a Ceylon leaf tea by Dilmah as their House tea because it goes best with Puhoi water ("The art or making proper tea"). The Puhoi Cottage also serve Twining's English Breakfast and Earl Grey leaf teas and herbal teas.

Part of the history of the Puhoi valley, the Puhoi Cottage was 100 years old on the 15th August 2007. It has been a registered Tea Room now for over 30 years and is serving Devonshire teas for over 40 years. They bake everything except for the pies in the little bake house. More importantly all the recipes are handed down from owner to owner. Puhoi Cottage's visitors will find this a place to remember and to tell their friends about.
